Circle
Since the beginning of time, the Circle, a shape with no beginning and no end, has been associated with the heavens (the sun, the moon and the planets) and the sacred.
It is the symbol of perfection, of eternity, of inclusion, of void and of the perpetual cycles of life.
The Circle occurs in nature in the atom, the cell, the eye, the spider web, and tree rings to name a few. It is therefore not surprising that the people of different cultures, from ancient times to the present day, have used it to connect to their environment and the sacred.
It has also fascinated and inspired artists like Kandinsky, Robert and Sonia Delaunay, and hard edge painters Claude Tousignant and Denis Juneau.
To me, the Circle is a metaphor of my place and my evolution in the universe. It represents movement and self-surpassing. It brings forth feelings of wholeness and serenity.
